Andriy Shevchenko is a legendary Ukrainian footballer, who became one of the greatest strikers in European football. He gained worldwide recognition while playing for AC Milan, where he scored many important goals and helped the club win the UEFA Champions League in 2003. A year later Andriy received the Ballon d´Or award, which is given to the best football player in the world. He was also the captain and all-time top scorer of the Ukrainian national team, taking a part at UEFA Euro 2012 on home soil, after which many people all around the world recognized the Ukrainian team as worthy opponents.
